Wynne Jacobson, LCPC

My path to becoming a therapist began with my own transformative experiences in therapy. Over the years, I found immense value in the therapeutic process, which not only helped me grow but also sparked a deep desire to help others on their journeys. I knew I wanted a career that aligned with my passions and values, and becoming a therapist felt like the perfect fit.

Before diving into becoming a therapist, I gained valuable experience in marketing and advertising for many years. These roles taught me about understanding people and communication - skills that seamlessly transitioned into my work as a therapist. While completing my MA in counseling, I also had the privilege of completing an internship with The Schools Group, where I learned the importance of providing support in educational settings both with children and their parents. Later, I joined a group private practice, where I honed my skills and deepened my connection to the work I love.

I grew up on the North Shore of Chicago and attended New Trier High School. For my undergraduate degree, I ventured west to the University of Colorado. While completing my studies, I cultivated my academic interests in international affairs and women’s studies, as well as connecting with nature. Later, I returned to Chicago to pursue my Master’s degree in counseling psychology at The Chicago School of Professional Psychology.

Outside of work, I find joy in many activities that bring balance and happiness to my life. My dogs, Max and Benny, are a constant source of comfort and laughter. Having lived in five different countries throughout my life, I have developed a love for exploring new cultures, foods, and experiences. Additionally, crafting has always been a creative outlet for me, and I also enjoy indulging in self-care rituals, as well as binge-watching The Great British Baking Show and The Office.
